Meet the new faces driving our fundraising forward

Fundraising

25 September 2024

Since 2007 we’ve raised an incredible £10 million, money that’s helped us support those affected by mitochondrial disease and fund research into treatments. We’ve no intention of taking our foot off the gas, so we’re delighted to welcome two new team members to this area of our charity – meet Nina and Victor.

Nina joins us as Fundraising Director and will be responsible for all our fundraising initiatives going forward. After spending a number of years in sales and marketing in the airline industry, she moved into the charitable sector. She’s worked for a range of different organisations including Save The Children and The Silver Line, a 24/7 helpline for isolated and vulnerable older people established by Dame Esther Rantzen.

We also say hello to Victor, who joins as a Trust Fundraiser. Victor has also worked for several different charities over the years, raising money and developing new projects for organisations in sectors ranging from the arts, the environment and health to homelessness, substance misuse, loneliness and bereavement.

The Lily Foundation’s CEO and founder, Liz, said of the appointments: “We’re delighted to have Nina and Victor joining our team. Fundraising is an exciting and ever-changing landscape, and their skills, experience and dedication will help us continue our mission to improve the lives of everyone affected by mitochondrial disease, raise awareness of this devastating condition and fund research in the quest for a cure.”

A very warm welcome to Nina and Victor!

If you’d like to take part in a fundraising challenge but you’re not sure where to start, read Sarah’s story. What began as a simple birthday fundraiser ended up with a leap from a plane and a grand total of over £20,000 raised in the fight against mitochondrial disease.

Raising money for charity isn’t as hard as you might think, especially when you have a strong community around you who are happy to sponsor you and spread the word about your challenge. So make that leap – sign up today to support The Lily Foundation and be part of something really special.
