Bendac Group is the leading UK-based LED display solutions provider. From its West of England HQ, the company designs and installs complex LED projects in over 20 countries around the world.

As a corporate partner of The Lily Foundation, the company will now be helping to light up the lives of people affected by mitochondrial disease.

Bendac Group has generously agreed to donate a percentage of its annual turnover to The Lily Foundation over an initial three-year period. It will also be engaging in fundraising activities to generate additional donations and help raise awareness about mitochondrial disease.

The money will help The Lily Foundation provide a range of vital services for people affected by mitochondrial disease, from expert advice and support to grants for respite breaks and essential home alterations, networking events, specialist mental healthcare and more.

David Da Costa, CEO of Bendac Group, commented: “It is a privilege for the Bendac Group to be in a position to be able to work with and support The Lily Foundation. We recognise the commitment that Liz, her family and friends have made in memory of her daughter Lily. We feel humbled by the possibility that we can, in our way, honour the memory of all those who continue to be lost to this dreadful disease, by helping others in their battle with it. Bendac have committed to long-term financial support to help those directly and indirectly affected, along with providing funding to further research towards a cure."

David gave special mention to local mum Sarah Moore, who lost two young daughters to mitochondrial disease, and whose widely reported 2019 skydive to raise funds for The Lily Foundation first inspired him to get involved.

"Sarah, who we met through our association at Bath Rugby, represents a strong, ethical, personal, credible presence for The Lily Foundation. Her life experience, personal heartache, hope and belief in what can be, has inspired us to want to support this very worthy cause, and honour the memory of her two beautiful daughters who sadly are no longer with us."

Liz Curtis, co-founder and CEO of The Lily Foundation, commented: "We are incredibly grateful to Bendac for agreeing to support people with mitochondrial disease in this way. We depend entirely on public donations to do our work, so it means a massive amount to get this level of support from a company of Bendac's standing, which has a strong reputation not just in the UK but globally. Acts of generosity like this make a huge difference, and give hope to everyone battling mitochondrial disease, coping with the loss of someone special, or working hard to find a cure."
