Our research strategy
Funding research into mitochondrial disease in order to improve lives is a key element of our strategy.
Since The Lily Foundation began back in 2007, funding cutting-edge research has always been a key element of our strategy. Not only does research help us to understand more about the complexities of mitochondrial disease, but it also brings life-changing benefits to patients and their families, and holds the key to finding effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
The Lily Foundation are the largest charitable funder of mitochondrial disease research in Europe, and our funding strategy focuses on two key areas – improving diagnosis and finding treatments.
